So you wrote a book...
The first step in the process is to have a discovery meeting. It is at this meeting that I learn more about you and your book idea, and you can learn more about how we work and what you can expect when you work with us. That meeting typically lasts anywhere from twenty to thirty minutes, and if we feel there is a mutual connection, we can discuss how we'd like to move forward.
If this sounds like a first date, then you are on the right track. We aren't a good fit for everyone, and it's best to learn that quickly over a cup of coffee rather than later in the relationship. K-12 professional development publishing is overpublished, and we want to ensure that the books we publish substantively move the discipline forward.
And we have learned through the decades that the best way to know if a book is worth publishing is to talk through the submission process rather than reading between the lines of a book proposal.
Yes, that's it. You don't need to complete a 14-page project proposal with competitive titles and a marketing plan. You are the writer. We are the publishers. You tackle writing the book and leave the business side to us.
